Jobs – let’s get to work in the EU!

The Financial and Economic Crisis are hitting us harder than many people imagined and No One is immune to this Crisis, We must therefore seize the opportunity and use all available EU aid in order to create new types of jobs which are sustainable in the long run.

The EU can help us create new jobs that are environmentally friendly and sustainable Jobs which we will not lose to India or China.

The Green Dimension is after all the Policy of the EU On 9th March 2009 the EU approved 110 BILLION Euros for the period 2007-2013 as regional aid for green jobs – this was announced by the EU Regional Policy Commissioner Danuta Hubner

So what are we to do Obtaining funds from the EU is complicated Amittedly the rules have been simplified recently.

Often we lose funds either because we fail in our application – or worse still we fail to apply for the available funds as we did when we failed to apply for funds under the EU Health Programme 2008-13 which had as its objectives:

• to promote health, including the reduction of health inequalities;

We missed funds which we could have utilized for Cancer Screening- such as Breast and Colon Cancer screening programmes.

We cannot allow this to happen in the future and as an MEP ‘I promise to set up a local office with the sole aim to alert individuals to the availability of funds, to guide individuals, companies, and other entities through the maze of paper work and bureaucracy associated with filling forms and adhering to the policies so that funds can be claimed successfully in order to create new jobs particularly green and sustainable jobs’.
